Roteiro pelo Pelourinho

Impossível falar de Salvador sem que a imagem do Pelourinho e de toda a região que o cerca nos venha logo a mente. Para chegar lá, é bem fácil. A dica é ir ao Mercado Modelo, na cidade baixa. Invista uns 40 minutos lá fazendo suas compras de artesanatos e lembrancinhas (12 fitinhas do Senhor do Bonfim = R$ 1,00). Na cidade alta tudo é mais caro (cada fitinha sai por R$ 1,00 !!!). Saindo do Mercado Modelo, pegue o elevador Lacerda (custa alguns centavos a subida) e vá para a cidade alta. Ao sair, contemple a Baía de Todos os Santos, com o Forte de São Marcelo. Tire fotos.

Dando as costas para a Baía, a sua direita está o Palácio Rio Branco, a sua frente a estátua de Tomé de Souza e a sua esquerda a prefeitura de Salvador. E a sua volta muitas querendo de “dar de presente” uma fitinha do Senhor do Bonfim, dizendo que é um presente, que não se deve dizer não a este presente. Diga NÃO ! É um truque para te fazer comprar fitinhas mais caras ou, dependendo do caso, te oferecer um prejuízo ainda maior ! Então, atenção ! Tire as fotos e siga pela esquerda (com suas costas para a Baía de Todos os Santos), caminhando cerca de 200 metros. No caminho você irá esbarrar com um busto do primeiro bispo do Brasil, D.Sardinha (que, com esse nome, foi comido por índios canibais – isso é sério !).

Pronto, você chegou ao Terreiro de Jesus (calma, é apenas uma praça). Há uma fonte muito bonita ali e casas coloridas. Tire fotos e siga a Igreja de São Francisco. Tire fotos da fachada e note que o santo está entre dois índios. Por R$ 3,00 você entra na igreja (alegam que é uma das mais ricas do Brasil em quantidade de ouro nos altares) e no museu. Por esse preço, vale a pena e rende fotos interessantes (mas lembre-se de desabilitar o flash para evitar a oxidação do ouro !).

De lá, siga para o Pelourinho. Se precisar de informação, pergunte a qualquer policial como você chega na casa de Jorge Amado. É um casarão-museu azul bem no largo do Pelourinho. Se você gosta das obras dele, vai achar o local interessante. Ande sem pressa, apreciando o ambiente. Lojas, galerias de arte e restaurantes estão por toda a volta. Casa bem conservadas e as ruas de pedra te levarão de volta no tempo. Fique atendo aos detalhes: algumas casas ainda tem números com brasões portugueses. Aproveite. Patrimônio Histórico da Humanidade, o Pelourinho é, talvez, o melhor passeio da cidade de Salvador.
